There is an immediate requirement for a Toolmaker to join a successful, Redditch based manufacturing company. The role will require the candidate to be responsible for manufacturing all tooling to engineering drawings for a variety of high industry aerospace customers across the UK

Main Responsibilities of the Toolmaker:
  • Manufacture extrusion, mould and finish dies from raw materials
  • Eradicating process variability and implementing robust controls (NPI)
  • Provide manual milling and surface grinding
  • Manufacture single-stage clip tools
  • Service and repair (PPM)
  • Ensuring the quality of parts
Key Technical/Professional Competencies:
  • Apprentice trained time served toolmaker (or 5 years’ experience in a toolroom).
  • Experience within a hot metal, heavy manufacturing environment, preferably producing aerospace/automotive products would be desired.
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of measuring equipment (Micrometres, height gauges understanding both imperial and metric)
  • Knowledge and experience operating CNC machine tools
