Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Lambeth, London
Age Group: 11-19 years
Hours : 8:30 to 3:30 pm
Salary: £85 to £90 per daye PAYE
About the School:
We are a dedicated SEN school in Lambeth, providing specialist education for students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and other complex needs
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing support to students with a wide range of needs. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in both group and 1:1 settings, adapting to their individual learning requirements
- Assisting with personal care, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility support
- Using specialized communication tools (e.g., Makaton, PECS) and sensory resources to enhance engagement
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor and support each student’s progress and development
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with ASD, complex needs, or PMLD
- Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality care and support
- Experience with personal care tasks and/or relevant training
- Understanding of communication techniques like Makaton or PECS is beneficial
