Established Car Parking Management Company, with extensive and comprehensive experience in the UK parking control industry. Currently manage and operate over 500 car parks across the UK, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
We are looking for a Compliance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the organisation’s adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, while promoting high standards of ethical conduct and regulatory compliance throughout the company. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management, data protection, and employee training on compliance policies.
As a Compliance Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine risk assessments to help the organisation understand and manage compliance risks, evaluating scope, significance, and the potential impact on business operations.
- Overseeing the organisation’s compliance with applicable laws and internal policies to ensure that the business stays current with the latest regulatory changes and maintains adherence across all departments.
- Educating and training employees on compliance regulations, data privacy, and ethical practices, emphasising the potential impact of non-compliance on the organisation and ensuring a compliance-focused culture.
- Accurately recording findings from compliance audits and assessments, draft comprehensive reports, and work closely with management to address and rectify any issues identified, following through to ensure full compliance.
- Reviewing marketing materials, websites, presentations, and external communications to ensuring that all public-facing content adheres to compliance and regulatory standards.
- Assisting in gathering and organising internal information required for regulatory reviews or in response to external requests by regulatory authorities, maintaining a high level of accuracy and completeness.
- Managing compliance-related documentation, including file creation, maintenance of ongoing project files, and ensuring adherence to data management standards within the organisation.
- Collaborating with managers across departments to ensure company-wide compliance, investigating irregularities or potential violations and providing guidance on compliance requirements.
- Checking audits, trackers, and safeguarding/complaints documentation, creating actionable plans based on findings and supporting audit completion with thorough follow-ups.
- Ensuring that all personal and sensitive information is handled in accordance with GDPR and company data protection guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of data security for both yourself and your team.
- Monitoring and enforcing adherence to Parking Data Management processes and standards, overseeing the proper use of implemented systems, including in-house software and Zatpark.
- Conducting risk-based data audits, analysing in-house developed software and parking management systems to ensure compliance, supervising data quality checks to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
- Serving as the organisation’s Data Protection Officer, implementing and overseeing data privacy policies across all departments, ensuring that all personal data is processed compliantly and maintaining a thorough audit trail of data processing activities.
- Overseeing and maintaining the company's ISO certification by implementing necessary protocols, conducting regular audits, and ensuring that all operational practices meet ISO standards. Regularly reviewing and updating processes to retain certification and uphold the highest quality and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate working as a Compliance Manager will;
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality across all tasks.
- Possess proven experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously, consistently meeting tight deadlines and demonstrating excellent time management.
- Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to draft well-structured reports and articulate points clearly in both internal and client communications.
- Have a solid understanding of regulatory compliance needs within the parking or similar industries, with the ability to conduct in-depth investigations and audits on compliance matters and regulatory requirements.
- Display strong client communication skills, with the capability to independently manage client inquiries and present compliance reports effectively.
- Possess an analytical mindset with robust capabilities in audit analytics, data interpretation, and the ability to assess audit findings to bring about efficiencies in compliance processes.
- Have advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, tracking, and reporting; knowledge of Zoho software is a plus.
