Role Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Education Support Workers to join our team, providing dedicated support to students with diverse needs. The ideal candidates will bring enthusiasm, patience, and a proactive approach to enhancing students' educational experiences. You will play a key role in supporting students' academic, emotional, and social development within a structured and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Work one-to-one or in small groups with students, adapting resources and teaching approaches to suit their specific learning needs.
  • Academic Assistance: Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons, ensuring that students can access the curriculum and supporting differentiated learning activities.
  • Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care, mobility, and other physical needs if required, ensuring dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
  • Behaviour Management: Support positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies, fostering a calm, safe, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Progress Monitoring: Document and report on students' progress, behaviour, and development, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO as required.
  • Collaborative Working: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to deliver the best outcomes for students.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding practices, ensuring that all activities and interactions prioritise student safety and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, either in education, care, or a similar environment.
  • Understanding of a range of SEN conditions, such as autism, ADHD, and communication or physical disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to the needs of each student and school environment.
  • An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, care, or SEN support are desirable.
