Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location: 235 Euston Rd., London NW1 2BU
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team at a prestigious healthcare site in the heart of London. As part of the world’s largest Facilities Management (FM) company, you will play a key role in maintaining a high standard of operational excellence at one of the most important healthcare facilities in the city. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with experience in building maintenance, reactive works, and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the site, supporting day-to-day maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building fabric.
- Reactive Works: Respond promptly to emergency repairs and breakdowns to minimise disruption to site operations, ensuring the continued safety and functionality of the healthcare facility.
- PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance): Plan and perform routine scheduled PPM tasks to ensure all critical systems remain operational and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring the work environment is safe for all staff and visitors. Conduct risk assessments and ensure that the site is compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Use technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the onsite Facilities Management team to ensure operational requirements are met and any technical issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, reactive works, inspections, and safety checks using the company’s internal systems.
Skills & Experience:
- Relevant Qualifications: A recognised qualification in a technical discipline (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar).
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled engineering role, ideally within healthcare, commercial, or facilities management environments.
- Multi-Skilled Expertise: Strong technical skills in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and general building maintenance. Ability to fault-find and resolve issues across multiple building systems.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety compliance and safe working practices.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues efficiently and effectively.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- IT Skills: Basic computer skills for using maintenance management systems and reporting tools.
