Are you seeking a workplace that values its people and fosters a supportive culture? In this role, you won’t be confined to the background. Instead, you’ll be integral to the business, working closely with the CEO, MD, and delivery teams. This hands-on collaboration offers you unique insights into how your financial expertise drives success, providing an unmatched opportunity for professional development.

The company’s flexible working arrangements allow you to distribute your 20 hours across 4 or 5 days, enabling you to balance work with other life commitments. They understand the challenges of maintaining a work-life balance, which is why they offer a comprehensive wellbeing package. From a health cash plan covering your everyday health needs to mental health workshops and financial well-being support, you’ll have access to resources that support you both professionally and personally.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the finance department, handling a variety of responsibilities including:

  • Managing the Accounts Payable ledger and processing payments to suppliers
  • Overseeing Credit Control, conducting credit checks on new clients, monitoring Experian for early warning signs, reporting concerns to the leadership team
  • Billing clients and resolving month-end queries related to costs, income, and invoices
  • Conducting monthly P&L reviews to assess costs
  • Supporting the external payroll processing service
  • Managing credit card and expense control

Working directly with the Finance Manager, you’ll likely have opportunities to expand your role over time.

To be considered, you should:

  • Ideally, be AAT qualified or working towards the latter stages
  • Have experience using cloud-based accounting systems; knowledge of Xero and Dext is highly desirable
  • Possess experience in a fast-paced, multi-transactional environment
  • Be confident in communicating with internal and external stakeholders, as daily interaction with various teams is key
  • Enjoy a dynamic work environment where each day brings new challenges

This part-time role offers a pro-rata salary of £26,000 - £28,000, along with the well-being benefits mentioned above, as well as death-in-service cover, free eye tests, free parking, and opportunities to participate in charity events.
