The Primary Teacher (No QTS Required) will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in a primary school setting. This role is suitable for individuals who have a passion for working with children and a strong knowledge of primary education. While you will not be required to hold QTS, you will still be expected to plan, teach, and assess effectively, working under the guidance and support of the teaching team.

You will be required:

  • Planning Lessons: Plan and prepare engaging, age-appropriate lessons based on the school’s curriculum (e.g., National Curriculum). Ensure that the needs of all students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and English as an Additional Language (EAL), are met through differentiated teaching.
  • Delivering Lessons: Teach a variety of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, and other core and foundation subjects, ensuring content is tailored to the abilities and learning styles of students.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, well-structured classroom environment that supports effective teaching and learning. Set clear expectations for behavior and implement school-wide behavior policies to maintain discipline.
  • Monitoring Student Progress: Assess student work regularly, providing feedback to help students improve and develop. Use both formative and summative assessments to track progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.

2. Student Support and Wellbeing

  • Personal Development: Encourage the academic and personal growth of students. Support students in developing their social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
  • Individual Learning Needs: Provide extra support to students who need it, ensuring that each child is able to access the curriculum at an appropriate level. Tailor instruction and interventions for learners with diverse needs.
  • Pastoral Care: Establish supportive relationships with students to promote their wellbeing. Be a point of contact for students who may need emotional or academic support.
  • Providing Feedback: Give constructive and timely feedback to students about their work, helping them understand how to improve.
  • Reporting: Prepare student reports and participate in parent-teacher meetings to discuss progress and areas for development
  • Classroom Resources: Organize and prepare classroom resources to support learning. Ensure that teaching materials are accessible and well-maintained.
  • Learning Environment: Create a stimulating learning environment, ensuring that displays, learning aids, and resources are relevant and supportive of student learning.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that the classroom is safe and conducive to learning, following the school’s health and safety policies at all times.
