Management Accountant
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 plus excellent benefits package, this can be a full-time or part-time with hybrid and flexible working options.
Our client is a top 50 accountancy practice who provide expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals. Our client has created a new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join their Winchester finance team. We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience in either practice or industry, are part way through studying towards an ACCA or ACA or, at least AAT qualified. This role will be a permanent, full-time or part-time (30+ hours per week) position based in Winchester with both hybrid (you can work from home up to 2 days per week if you wish) and flexible working options. Salary is £35,000 to £40,000 plus excellent benefits package including pension, life assurance, health cash plan, retail discount scheme, electric vehicles salary sacrifice, and cycle to work scheme. Please note full driving licence is required.
Management Accountant Duties:
This is a brand-new role that has been created to manage the financial reporting, management accounts preparation and day-to-day financial operations of several companies. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Record and post the day-to-day financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Prepare and file VAT returns.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts and other financial accounts.
- Supporting with budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve any account discrepancies.
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining supplier records.
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Balance sheet management and reconciliation.
- Produce draft financial statements, including trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet.
- Identify ways that processes, and reporting can be improved and drive these improvements.
- Collaborating with the Finance team on various projects.
Management Accountant candidate requirements
- 2 years’ UK experience in either practice or industry.
- ACCA or ACA or, at least AAT qualified.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivation and pride in meeting targets.
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills.
- Full driving licence with ability to spend some days at other locations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced team.
