As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in assessing complex cases, developing care plans, and leading interventions to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people through the provision of high-quality social work practice.
  • Undertake focused, analytical assessments and SMART plans that have clear objectives and outcome measures.
  • Demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, including relationship and strengths-based practice.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and a range of organizations, both statutory and voluntary, to deliver services.
  • Provide expert advice and support to less experienced staff, contributing to their development and the maintenance of high practice standards.
  • Lead on an area of practice within the team or service, supporting others in enhancing their knowledge and skills in that subject.
  • Prepare clear, structured, and concise reports for meetings and court proceedings as required.
  • Participate in regular supervision, critically reflecting on case work and promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Keep up to date with research findings, theoretical models, and innovative practices to inform evidence-informed practice.
  • Contribute to service development in alignment with local plans, initiatives, and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with post-qualifying training and registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience of at least 2-3 years working with children and families.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in child protection, court work, and relevant legislation, guidance, standards, and local policies.
  • Competency in maintaining accurate case records and writing high-quality reports for professional settings.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to Social Work England's professional standards.
