Discovery to Live have partnered with a Digital Software Consultancy who are looking to build a team to continue solving problems using software and technology for their clients. We are seeking a confident Junior Finance Assistant to join our client's team to play a crucial role in optimising their development and finance processes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Junior Finance Assistant to join our client's team on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in Ebbsfleet, Kent, this on-site role will support the finance team in managing daily financial activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reporting and compliance. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Process and maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and financial transactions.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure that discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • Monitor and track expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the finance team in preparing budget reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Compile financial data for audits and assist with internal and external audit processes.

Administrative Support:

  • Handle day-to-day financial queries from suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Support payroll processing and ensure that employee records are up to date.
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial files, both physical and digital.

Compliance & Procedures:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
  • Support in maintaining and updating financial procedures, ensuring they are in line with legal and regulatory requirements. At least 1-2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or bookkeeping role.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Additional Attributes:

  • AAT Level 1 (or above) or equivalent qualification in finance/accounting is preferred.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices is a plus.
