Uniform Education are seeking someone with experience of providing positive support to young people as an SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a well-established special educational needs school. 

This is a great opportunity to support and empower young people who have autism and social communication, cognitive, sensory and social, emotional and behavioural needs. The school is very modern, with extensive equipment designed to meet the needs of students and encourage independence in later life, including sensory rooms, cooking areas and quiet sections, and is looking for staff that are passionate about creating the best possible environment possible for their students to thrive. 

Uniform Education are a well established educational agency supporting young people in over 250 schools across the Greater London and Hertfordshire areas, who are currently recruiting for a series of roles in both SEN and mainstream schools. For this role, relevant experience with children or adults with SEND in essential, and we look for strong communication, interpersonal and motivational skills. The right candidate must be able to demonstrate patience, empathy and a genuine passion for improving the lives of those in their care.

What we are looking for:

• Experience working with children, particularly children with SEN or SEMH needs
• Individuals who can evaluate students' abilities to support them better, adapt learning materials to suit needs, keep track and reflect on progress and monitor behaviour
• Ability to support students in developing social and communication skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment 
• Patience and adaptability; ready to hit the ground running
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A current DBS on the Update Service, or willing to complete a DBS check
• Looking for supply, contract or permanent positions
