Quality Inspector

Due to our clients continuing growth , they are now recruiting a QUALITY INSPECTOR to join there team. In this key position, you’ll take an active role in ensuring we deliver outstanding quality products, first time, every time, protecting and connecting people around the world.

To be successful, you’ll be able to demonstrate the following:

GCSE Maths and English grades 4-9
Knowledge and application of ISO Quality standards.
Previous work-experience in a manufacturing environment including:
Inspection experience in a mechanical machining or electronic soldering assembly background.
Working to drawings and documents.
High attention to detail, quality and right first time ethos.
Fault finding/problem solving.
Methodical, patient approach to work.

The Role:

  • Inspect incoming materials and parts determining electrical and mechanical conformance with specifications.
  • Completes general, spot and final inspection on product for conformance with specifications supporting Production Line, Goods Inwards and Machine Shop inspection areas and electrical manufacturing standard IPC610 and JSTD001.
  • Works with all to determine root cause of detected failures and improvement areas providing appropriate support, suggestion and guidance.
  • Rejects material in accordance with Quality requirements and verify rework/repair has been completed in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Produces, processes and maintains detailed documentation and associated data systems to ISO14001 and ISO9001, including inspection reports, and nonconforming material documents.
  • Maintains equipment, materials and work area, ensuring it’s clean, safe and organised. Including microscope, verniers, digital micrometers, thread gauges, CMM machine.
  • Assists in implementing process controls, improvement actions, work and inspection instructions.
  • Understands and works in accordance and customer working KPI metrics including, quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Drive a continuous improvement ethos through own actions, working closely with all teams to improve process and design for manufacturability of products.
  • Completes required training and applies learning and competency back into job role.
  • Deputise for others in agreed responsibilities when requested by Quality/Operations Management.
  • Positively presents the role of Inspector, completing required training activities to meet job role and business requirements and personal competency.
