3-month interim contract to start ASAP

Reporting into the Director of Family Community & Justice Services, you will be responsible for a team of 5.  You will draw on your substantial experience of managing and leading services to act as the operational lead for the All Age Early Intervention and Prevention Service (Early Help), Young Carers Service and Adult and Community services. Your role will include liaising with commissioners, ensuring that services are contract compliant and driving performance to achieve excellent outcomes for young people, families and adults. 

Your Role as a Service Lead – Family & Community Services:
  • Develop and implement effective policy and strategy on all matters relating to Family & Community Services
  • Have an excellent understanding of commissioning arrangements, including developing and writing bids
  • Liaising with commissioners, ensuring that services are contract compliant and driving performance to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Provide strategic leadership and influence across the Council
  • Represent the organisation to develop links with key external partners to maximise local integration and strengthen relationships in the community
  • Performance management, coaching and mentoring
  • Lead, manage and take strategic operational responsibility
 
Your previous experience as a Service Lead – Family & Community Services:
  • In-depth experience at a senior managerial level both operational functions and strategic service needs
  • Demonstrate ability to promote changes necessary in service planning, commissioning, service delivery and engagement with service users
  • Broad and deep experience of commissioning, service delivery and safeguarding with a strong understanding of how improvements can be achieved by integrated planning and delivery
  • Must demonstrate a high level of operational experience in a Local Authority setting
