Job Description:

They are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stockport, Manchester. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior mechanical and electrical design engineers to develop detailed mechanical designs for a variety of building projects.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and schedules using AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments to inform design decisions.
• Participate in client meetings to define project briefs, discuss design options, and provide technical advice.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and building regulations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines within the company to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Support the preparation of tender documentation and evaluate tender submissions.
• Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as MEPWorx / IES, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, and building regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., CIBSE) is desirable.
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
