Accelerate Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Worker to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds. This rewarding role, starting in September 2024, offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to students, promoting their emotional, social, and academic well-being.
  • Develop and implement individual pastoral care plans for students in need of additional support.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to student welfare.
  • Address behavioural issues and work on strategies to improve student behaviour and engagement.
  • Organise and lead small group sessions and one-on-one interventions to support students facing challenges.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress, ensuring accurate and confidential record-keeping.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting respect, diversity, and equality.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral, counselling, or similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, counselling, social work, or a related field are desirable.
  • Additional training or certifications in child protection and safeguarding are advantageous.
