Commissioning Support Officer

Salary: £15 umbrella an hour

About the Role

Worcestershire County Council are seeking a pro-active and self-motivated individual to join their team as a Commissioning Hub Support Officer. The role is based in Worcester and will involve supporting commissioning work within the Social Care and SEND areas of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Short Breaks Mini Competition processes from start to finish by collaborating with staff within Worcestershire Children First to identify suitable service provision for vulnerable children to enable the best outcomes for children, young people and their families.
  • Following up provider offers to ensure that the provision matches the needs of the child as detailed in the referral, and actively challenging when anomalies exist.
  • Utilising the Liquid Logic Childrens system to set-up financial packages for childrens care.
  • Completing a monthly payment run, including challenging and negotiating with providers to ensure optimum value for money and may include escalating to service and contract leads any quality or engagement issues with the provider.
  • Maintaining detailed financial records to support contract monitoring.
  • Quality assuring forms, setting up contracts and assisting with other key commissioning related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a commissioning environment within a local authority or similar organisation.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and Children Act 1989/2004.
  • Experience of working with Liquid Logic Childrens system or similar case management systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
