The Role

We are one of the UK's leading dry powder manufacturers, looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Factory Manager to our growing team.

You will take full ownership of our factory and production management, ensuring we meet our clients’ specifications and maintain our reputation for excellence. This role goes beyond the typical Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 schedule. You'll need a strong hands-on management style, be dedicated, and ready to go the extra mile to keep our plant operating at its best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of our factory operations including the production and production staff.
  • Work within our ISO9001-2015 & GMP systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and review workloads and manpower to ensure targets are met on a cost- effective basis.
  • Monitor and maintain production and quality standards to the highest levels.
  • Ensure the factory is in good order at all times.
  • Help investigate all manufacturing incidents or non-conformances and together with the Quality & Compliance Manager identify root causes and implement the necessary corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Maintain communications with all production personnel and provide feedback on individual’s performance and quality standards.
  • Support and from time to time deliver the monthly briefings to plant personnel.
  • Carry out daily site inspections to ensure production procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Assist with in-house training with other managers to ensure CPD is being maintained by all production staff.
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are being always followed and provide guidance to employees.
  • As part of the Senior Management team, you will be expected to support all functions of the business and work together with all other departments.
  • Assist in making important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
  • Help develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all production documents are prepared and completed accurately in a timely manner.

Drytec Spray Drying Ltd. has more than thirty five years of experience in particle drying technology, working with leading companies across Europe in the Food, Pharmaceutical and Fragrance industries.

We are able to produce a wide range of products to exceptional quality and hygiene standards for volumes from a few Kgs to many Tonnes. We have tremendous experience in providing spray drying services to the Food Industry including Flavours, Individual Ingredients, Pharmaceutical Excipients, Colours and Nutritional products.

The Person

  • Demonstrable operations management experience in a manufacturing business.
  • Be able to take ownership of all aspects of operations & production control, spanning a 24-hour 5 Days per week operation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of working to ISO 9001-2015 and GMP standards.
  • Whilst it is not a prerequisite a recognised qualification or experience in an Electrical or Engineering discipline would be beneficial.
