The Role 

We have an opportunity for an Income Officer to join our team to provide a first-class rent arrears service that maximises tenancy sustainment and ensures excellent performance and customer satisfaction.  

Providing a customer centred service, you will manage their current or former accounts and achieve superior rates of income collection and reduce evictions. The role will require you to undertaking home visits as well as having telephone and email contact to discuss ways to reduce and clear customer debt. Using your knowledge, you will collaborate with benefit services to ensure income from benefits is maximised and the application of alternative payment arrangements for Universal Credit is utilised. 

About you 

We are looking for an individual with previous experience of managing customer accounts and financial records. With strong communication skills, you will need to have experience of dealing with internal and external customers, including managing difficult conversations.  

You will have demonstrable experience of ICT systems and packages, including Microsoft Excel and have the ability to meet deadlines and manage different priorities; working independently and as part of a team.     

Experience of enforcement, court action and pre-action protocol would be beneficial as would a good understanding of welfare benefits and payment methods. 

This post requires that the job holder is subject to a DBS check at a basic level.  

A current driving licence and access to an appropriately insured vehicle is a requirement for the post.
