Learning Support Assistant – London Borough of Croydon 

ASAP/September 

Up to £100 per day PAYE

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with social emotional and mental health disorders? Are you interested in sports and fitness? or perhaps you are interested in mechanics or construction 

Do you have experience working as a Teaching Assistant/LSA/Mentor with young people who are not able to attend mainstream school and have a background of behavioural challenges? Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND.

We are helping a specialist secondary school in the London Borough of Croydon to recruit for a number of specialist support staff to join them, either for now or for September.

The role will be a class-based role supporting the behaviour of the learners on a one-to-one basis across KS4 and KS5.

They are also ideally looking for support staff who have subject knowledge or specialisms within:

• Mechanics
• Construction
• Sports

You should have:

• Experience working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
• Secondary Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker experience
• Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
• A passion for working with SEND is essential
