SEND Learning Support Assistant - Lambeth

Empowering Learning are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a school based in Lambeth. We are looking for an outstanding and experienced Learning Support Assistants, who are dedicated to supporting children with various special needs. Our school supports children with various learning abilities, such as challenging behaviour, autism and PMLD so experience of working with a range of special needs would be desirable. We are seeking a versatile Learning Support Assistant to work with various age groups, with an emphasis on supporting individuals in a primary and secondary setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and group basis
  • Supervising children in & out of the classroom
  • Encourage and support the pupils learning
  • Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements

  • Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant/Classroom Assistant
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit
  • Able to commit to 3-6 months and potentially longer
