Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Security Manager to oversee the comprehensive delivery of security services at Teesside Park, a bustling retail environment. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the safety and security of all customers, staff, and occupants. This role involves managing diverse situations, including first aid, traffic management, police incidents, and low-level anti-social behaviour.

As the Security Manager, you will oversee the Control Room operations, ensuring compliance with procedures and proper training for CCTV operatives. Daily responsibilities include team management, recruitment, inductions, handling absences, HR issues, training, skill gap analysis, and disciplinary actions. Strong leadership and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Supervisory experience in a retail security or professional security environment, with strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Proficiency in IT (Microsoft Office 365, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR processes, Health & Safety policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Experience in delivering and reviewing training programs.
  • Conduct scenario training for major incidents.
  • Perform competency and safety audits.
  • Identify and rectify hazardous conditions.
  • Monitor compliance, enforce control measures, investigate accidents or incidents, and revise risk assessments as needed.
  • Manage attendance and conduct performance reviews with the team.

Licence Requirements:

Essential:

  • SIA Door Supervisor licence.
  • CCTV Licence.
  • Full driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • First Aid Certificate.
  • IOSHH.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must provide a verifiable 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods receiving benefits). Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate is desirable.
