Are you passionate about the arts and eager to support the next generation of artists? Our vibrant and dynamic secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Technician to join our team!



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Art Department Staff: Assist teachers in preparing materials and equipment for lessons.
  • Maintain Art Supplies: Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the art room is well-stocked.
  • Prepare Classroom Resources: Set up and organise classrooms for art projects and practical lessons.
  • Student Support: Provide technical support to students during lessons, workshops, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all art materials and equipment are used safely and properly maintained.
  • Display Artwork: Assist in the creation and maintenance of displays of students' work throughout the school.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform routine administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and record-keeping.


Requirements:

  • Passion for Art: A strong interest in art and a desire to support artistic education.
  • DBS Check: A current DBS check registered on the update service is essential.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work flexibly and respond to the needs of the department.
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of art techniques and familiarity with various art materials and tools.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Previous Experience: Prior experience as an Art Technician or in a similar role.
  • Educational Background: A background in art education or related field.
