Learning Disability Employment Coach

Posted 2 weeks ago by Red 5 People

Location:
Camden
Salary/Rate:
£32,000 - £35,000/annum Supporting adults with Autism & Learning Disabilities into employment
Only 4.8% of people with learning disabilities and autism secure employment. This charity has spotted a niche area of support needed for those clients aged 25 and over, where there is less support to help them into work.

The charity has only set up recently.  They hired their first Employment Coach, and need their second staff member (looking to expand and hire another 3 – 4 this year).  The founder focusses on employer engagement, and referrals onto the contract.  Your role is to purely focus on working with the clients to develop their employability skills. And support and coach them, and the employers as they move into the work place.

As an Employment Consultant, you will:

  • Engage with Clients: Understand their skills and motivations.
  • Collaborate with Employers: Match candidates' talents through job carving.
  • Support Inductions and Training: Ensure reasonable adjustments are made.
  • Provide 1:1 Guidance: Help clients develop skills and confidence.
  • Deliver Training: Educate clients, employers, and families.
Location:  Based in Camden, North London, but you need to be flexible across London as demands of the charity changes.

Ideal Candidates:  You must have good experience of working with people with Autism or a Learning Disability to support them into employment or develop their employability skills.
