Our client, a leading business in the Financial Services sector is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Mortgage Underwriter will have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in underwriting, in either the residential, commercial or preferably buy-to-let markets, and will have previously held a mandate.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient and be committed to meeting deadlines whilst maintaining the quality of their decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Asses portfolio Landlord’s in accordance with current legislation and guidelines

- The ability to interpret CAIS information in accordance with current lending guidelines

- Take ownership of complex cases and queries, working both independently and as apart of a team

- Liaise with consultants, brokers, solicitors and other third parties

- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when underwriting cases

Key Experience:

- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in Underwriting within the mortgage / property sector, either with commercial, buy-to-let or residential cases

- Ability to cope with everchanging regulations and circumstances

- Recognising the need for change and acting upon this accordingly

- Previously held a mandate

- Ability to work both under pressure and to tight deadlines, maintaining standards and quality at all times
