I'm working with a growing, fast paced business in the Nottingham area that is at an exciting point in their Health & Safety journey. This a great opportunity for a Health & Safety professional looking for a chance to influence & improve a company's H&S environment.

This company a well-recognised company supply an array of products and are looking to do so in the most effective, efficient and safe way possible. They are in need of a Health & Safety professional to support the operation in the next phase of their safety journey. You have the chance to be instrumental in driving best safety practices by supporting the improvement of their manufacturing processes.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Health and safety function, drive the working culture of staff to ensure delivery of objectives.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment for employees and visitors on site, and ensuring the depot is operating within health and safety legal requirements and in line with the company policies and procedures.
  • Create SSOW/Risk assessments/Training matrices
  • Proactively leading, you will ensure collaborative health and safety projects
  • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
  • Continuously improve by reviewing and auditing arrangements for health & safety management where appropriate.
  • Provide strategies to plan and organise work systems to reduce health & safety risks and recommending suitable adaptations to equipment, practices and processes.
  • Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health & Safety statistics, and providing management information and statistics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive behavioural culture change programme across a large, growing, operation.
  • Ensure all site risk assessments are refreshed and that all training conducted at site is in line with legislative requirements and company best practice.
  • Ensure the site management team are fully equipped to conduct and investigate all accidents and incidents and make proactive changes to site working practices where agreed.

Profile

A Health & Safety professional with manufacturing/logistics experience & the following:

  • IOSH/NEBOSH certificate level or equivalent
  • Up to date knowledge of essential UK H&S legislation
  • Excellent team building, leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to communicate & influence with individuals at all levels within the organisation
  • Results focused with good organisational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable record of driving significant change through an operation
