Our client is looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join their team in Brierley.

Mission:

As the Health and Safety Advisor, your role will be to implement the organisation's health and safety policies and procedures. You will ensure that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment while ensuring compliance with current and future regulations and laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards and unsafe equipment and practises.
  • Liaise with senior management and operational users in conducting safety tours.
  • Ensure correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Investigate non-compliance health and safety issues thoroughly.
  • Support the completion of permit to work forms for all external contractors.
  • Maintain and update Health and Safety documentation electronically.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits.
  • Ensure first aid supplies and resources are readily available.
  • Recommend changes to working processes and conditions to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Maintain and analyse records of workplace injuries, illnesses, and absences.
  • Educate and train the workforce on health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage specific projects as assigned by the business or line manager.

Technical competencies:

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
  • Familiarity with Success Factors, ProSafety, Action Tracker, IOSH, and NEBOSH.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should have a deep understanding of health and safety regulations and laws. Furthermore, you should possess excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential.

Benefits:

- Salary: Up to £28,000, depending on experience.

- Working hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, totalling 40 hours per week (after deducting a daily unpaid thirty-minute break).

  • 22 days of holiday plus 9 bank holidays.
