Job Title: Fleet & Procurement Manager

Locations: Nottingham

Job Summary:

Duties:

  • Develop inventive and cost-effective procurement strategies.
  • Source and negotiate with reliable suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Review existing contracts to ensure feasibility.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Approve purchase orders and confirm delivery of goods and services.
  • Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Control the procurement budget and promote long-term savings.
  • Manage IT systems for tracking shipments, inventory, and goods supply.
  • Prepare procurement reports.
  • Optimise stock management across all locations to support operational efficiency.
  • Oversee and manage the purchasing team's daily activities.
  • Organise and conduct quarterly stock takes for warehouse and remote locations.
  • Establish quality control to ensure stock meets company standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance for timely and correct deliveries.
  • Ensure goods receipt processes are properly recorded in the database.
  • Identify best practices for managing high-volume stock orders.
  • Collaborate with Finance and end users to improve purchase order and goods receipt processes.
  • Implement subcontractor performance and management systems to support Operations Management.
  • Procure vehicles through lease, purchase, or other methods as per company requirements.
  • Register, license, and insure company vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicle security and compliance with regulations.
  • Partner with reputable repair and maintenance shops.
  • Schedule and oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance, and servicing.
  • Maintain vehicle information and inspection records.
  • Store driver records securely.
  • Analyse fleet performance data for improvements.
  • Report fleet performance and finances to upper management.
  • Negotiate commercial insurance and fuel purchasing to optimise costs.
  • Implement real-time vehicle location tracking.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in procurement and fleet management.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in managing IT systems for procurement and fleet operations.
