Research Integrity Assistant - Publishing Company

Contract: 6 Month Contract

Location: Remote

Salary: up to £225 per day, outside of IR35

SRG are working with a Leading British Publishing company to help them find a Research Integrity Assistant to join their busy team. This role is open to graduates with at least 1 or 2 job roles within the industry.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with the team to drive research integrity investigations
• Check articles for integrity of authorship, content, data and key ethics statements.
• Assist the ethics team with contacting authors and assessing files requested from authors
• Where required, assist in identifying experts to provide advice on specific articles
• Work with the ethics team and editorial teams on organising post-publication notices.
• Handle confidential information confidently and sensitively, with consideration for the legal and ethical issues that may arise from any mishandling

Candidate Requirements:

• Research background in a relevant discipline.
• Editorial experience in assessing scientific manuscripts for quality and integrity of content.
• Experience as an Asst Editor / Editor / Managing Editor, ideally within a publishing house.
• Strong understanding of various research methods and practices.
• Have a Sciences Degree (ideally Food or Plant Sciences)
• Must understand and have used scientific methodologies in education/working career as you will be working around Scientific journals.
• Some experience of publishing ethics is also ideal but not essential.
