BMSL are looking for freelance site managers for 3 major projects in Newport, Cardiff, and Swansea areas. Experience within retail, industrial refurbishments and extensions is desirable.

Position Overview: As the Freelance Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the construction site, including scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Your role will be critical in maintaining project timelines and delivering a high-quality educational facility that meets the needs of the community.

Location: Swansea, Cardiff, Newport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient resource utilisation and timely completion of tasks.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment for all onsite personnel.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or delays promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily progress reports, safety inspections, and material deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the project team to resolve design or construction challenges and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to onsite personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the construction industry, with a focus on educational projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques relevant to school construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate onsite activities and communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling and reporting.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant certifications (preferred).
