The Quarry Operative vacancy is working with a market leading manufacturing business, based close to the South Normanton area. Due to location, applicants will require their own transport to reach to the site.

The purpose of this role is to carry out the operation of Quarry processing machinery within an industrial manufacturing environment. Training will be provided as will the opportunity to obtain additional plant based licenses such as Fork Lift Trucks and loading shovels etc. Applicants are invited from a wide range of industrial backgrounds. Previous quarry manufacturing experience of preferred but not essential.

What's in it for you:

• The position is offered on a permanent basis from day one and allows for both accredited training and personal development - including additional plant training and health and safety training with the opportunity to progress to a supervisory level
• Typical hours of work are 6am to 5pm - 48 hours per week - Monday to Friday
• The first 40 hours are paid at £12.13 per hour, the additional hours are paid at x 1.5. Further overtime is also available at double time - annual starting salary circa £33/34k, with incrimental increases also available
• Bonus is also available subject to company performance, this year it equated to around 3 months additional wages, but is not guaranteed
• On occasions subject to business requirements you may be asked to work nights - this does attract a 30% shift premium

Main duties will include:
* The safe of operation of fixed quarry plant machinery
* Fork Lift truck counterbalance operation - Training can be provided
* Training will also be available to undertake additional mobile plant licences, such as loading shovels - along with the opportunity to progress to a supervisor level in time

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Full UK driving licence and own transport
* Previous experience of working within a quarry or heavy industrial environment is preferred
* Previous Fork Lift Truck experience - Counterbalance, refresher and familiarization training is available
* An awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace
