We have opportunities for Social Workers to join our new Adolescent Service based across the North, East and West of Surrey!

The salary range for Social Workers who have successfully completed their ASYE is £45,929 - £48,735 per annum. This is inclusive of a newly created market supplement of £5,000.

We also offer a financial package of up to £6,000 which is payable in 3 instalments across your first 18 months in post.

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to be part of the journey to help shape services in Surrey for adolescents. You will have support from a range of teams in a central hub to compliment the work that you do. This includes Youth Justice, Missing, Edge of Care and Rapid Response, Intervention Support, Risk and Intelligence and Youth Offer. As part of the latter phase of the safeguarding adolescents model, partnership colleagues from Education, Health, Police and other agencies will join the hubs as part of the commitment towards adolescents services in Surrey. 

You will work with skilled, passionate, and supportive Team Managers and colleagues, looking at innovative ways to address adolescent risk outside of the home, building relationships with our families and partners so the voices of our young people are heard.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Family Partnership: Collaborate with families, respecting their rights and promoting children's welfare within their family units.

  • Motivational Practice: Develop and use motivational skills to help parents identify and implement necessary life changes.

  • Triage & Assessment: Assess contacts to determine if they meet the threshold for social work intervention, ensuring family consent where possible.

  • Risk & Needs Evaluation: Conduct assessments of family strengths and risks, developing SMART plans to address children's needs.

  • Child Protection: Lead investigations where significant harm is suspected, working with families to create plans that reduce risks.

  • Legal & Placement Decisions: Initiate legal proceedings or seek alternative care when families cannot meet children's needs, ensuring stable long-term placements.

  • Case Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records, assessments, and plans in line with organizational standards.

  • Collaborative Practice: Work with legal services, courts, and social work teams to manage cases and support family stability.

  • Child-Centered Approach: Ensure children’s views and wishes are central to care planning and service development.

  • Outcome Improvement: Engage in reflective supervision and continuous improvement to enhance outcomes for children and families.
