Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Tool Hire Manager to join our team in Peterborough, who's as passionate about great service as we are.

We provide full training and development with our Tool Hire positions, you'll learn all about the equipment and tools we hire, how they work and how to maintain them to ensure our customers get the best from us.

*This role requires a full manual UK driving license

Hours: 7.30 - 5.00 Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12

Location: Cygnet Park, Club Way, Hampton, Peterborough PE7 8JA

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the Tool Hire department in branch - supervising a small team to ensure that great relationships are developed with our customers

• Collaborate with the wider Jewson network to support customer requirements and business activities

• Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth - contact new and existing customers to offer quotes and services

• Perform delivery and collection of tools and equipment using a 3.5t vehicle, often with trailer attachment (training will be provided), unloading and talking customers through how to operate them at site

• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop

• Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

• Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Required Skills and Experience

• Full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of 1 year, manual transmission

• Previous industry experience preferred but not essential

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly

• Strong communication skills

• Experience dealing with internal and external customers

• Leadership experience would also be beneficial to the role
