Salary: Circa £23,500 - £25,000 (FTE) depending on experience
Location: Steeton, BD20
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday (with some flexibility, school hours considered)

Our client, an award-winning bakery manufacturer founded in 1899, is seeking a Customer Service & Despatch Coordinator to join their team.

The Position:

This is an exciting opportunity for a methodical, bright individual with a keen eye for detail who can take responsibility for the order processing and despatching of goods from our manufacturing plant. You will play a key role in achieving right-first-time shipment performance and ensuring smooth customer service operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing customer orders and sending out order confirmations.
  • Despatching orders and booking in orders from customers.
  • Arranging transport and organising haulage logistics.
  • Processing delivery notes and filing all relevant paperwork, including picking lists and order confirmations.
  • Dealing with customer queries promptly and efficiently via phone, email, and other communication methods.
  • Logging claims for missed or lost deliveries with the delivery company and ensuring deliveries are on track.
  • Liaising with van sales representatives to coordinate delivery areas for the following week.
  • Answering telephones, handling enquiries, or transferring calls to the relevant person/department.
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to ensure smooth operations.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

  • Professional telephone manner and strong customer relations skills.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise workloads efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Methodical, with excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and communicate at all levels within the business.
  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing business is highly desirable.
