Job Description
  • Assist Gas Manager in technical issues, health & safety requirements and company procedures
  • Supervise the team of Gas Engineers & Apprentices working on behalf of United Living to delivering high quality & cost effective gas installation, servicing & maintenance services
  • Carry out service, repair, commissioning and maintenance work to heating & gas systems where required
  • Day to day responsibility of managing a team of Gas Engineers
  • To provide technical support & knowledge to engineers, admin team & clients where necessary
  • Be able to self-manage and arrange work-loads/schedules if necessary in order to attend to emergency calls and jobs escalated form engineers
  • To carry out routine inspections and quality control checks on U/L engineers & sub-contractors
  • To work alongside admin team & Gas Manager to provide and uphold a first class service for clients
  • To work alongside manager ensuring all training needs and staff development is met through appraisals and quality control checks
  • To cover for Gas Manager, attending contract meetings, health & safety meetings etc. where necessary
  • Keep up to date with all current gas regulations, manufacturer`s updates & Gas safe technical bulletins delivering information via tool box talks, presentations and on the job training/development
  • Liaise with clients and residents to help Gas Manager deal with complaints, correspondence and client enquiries to enable a swift and positive outcome
  • Promote continual review and improvement of services by creating an environment in which staff are encouraged to use their own initiative and creativity for the benefit of the clients and residents
  • Arrange monthly meetings with apprentice mentors & apprentices to record any issues & progress through their apprenticeship. Details to be recorded and shared with gas manager for discussion
Qualifications

Full Domestic ACS qualifications Inc. MET1

CDMMA1 - Fumes Investigation 

Experience of carrying out gas auditing of engineers is an advantage

SMSTS - Is desirable 

L.P.G, Oil & Commercial qualifications are an advantage 

Microsoft Excel, Project and Word skills required

Working hours 7.30am Until 5pm Monday to Friday

1 hour lunch break

Full uniform & safety equipment supplied
