The success of this specialist Landscaping Contractor who operate in the luxury, “super-prime” Gardens sector means that they need an additional Estimator to pull together all of the costs of a project and provide the sales and operations teams with an accurate budget and quotation or tender. They would ideally like to recruit an Estimator with Landscaping and Bluebeam experience, but they recognise the difficulty of finding this precise skill set. They are therefore open to training an Estimator from another area of Construction and experience in Groundworks would be of particular relevance. In fact, this is the ideal position for a Construction Estimator looking for a role with great career prospects and excellent training!

The Job:

Reporting to the Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor you will be one of the first points of contact for new enquiries and working closely with the design team you will create BoQ’s, pricing structures and quotations.

• Review the brief and design to fully understand the clients’ requirements
• Attend Pre and Post Contract meetings with clients as required.
• Using Bluebeam Revu you will accurately measure PDF drawings to determine the scope of works and, if necessary, produce a Bill of Quantities, consistent with the specifications for pricing purposes.
• Research and resource materials, plant and sub-contract prices for each project and create a pricing matrix for future use
• Provide provisional costings for leads and enquiries
• Assist Clients with technical feedback at all stages of the tender and award process.
• Assign or propose Profit Margins based on department guidelines.
• To submit monthly CVRs to Commercial Director.
• To submit Variations to Client for approval.
• Build and maintain strong, professional working relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.

The Person:

You will currently be working in an Estimating role, preferably in Landscaping but possibly in a Groundworks or Construction company and you will:

• Have some knowledge of how a garden landscape should be built
• Have experience in preparing and submitting Commercial Landscaping or General Construction Quotations.
• Have an understanding of Contracts and Project risk management.
• Be organised with good time management and used to meeting deadlines.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Full driving licence.
