Warehouse & Packing Manager
 
We are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our clients busy warehouse team based close to Stansted in the Bishop's Stortford area. Duties will include managing and monitor all warehouse duties and staff. Work with the management team to ensure all systems are running correctly.
 
A successful Warehouse Manager would distribute, coordinate and monitor the daily activities of his/her team by adapting the human and material resources for optimal productivity and profitability, while ensuring service, quality and health and safety standards. Ensure that both internal and external customer KPI expectations are met or exceeded.

Due to the location, It is beneficial that candidates drive and have their own transport. 
 
Resource Management & Team Leadership
Ø Manage and monitor the training requirements of the staff to ensure skill levels are adequate to meet the demands to the position to which they are being asked complete. Provide induction and training for new recruits.
Ø Communicate in an effective and timely manner to the team.
Ø Complete briefing and debriefing of staff daily. Establish clear and precise instructions to perform operations, setting individual targets and appraising each individual accordingly to set goals. Actively managing performance and conduct matters without delay.
Ø Coach and mentor appropriate team members to ensure continuous improvement; passing on all expertise and information to teams when needed and solve discrepancies when required. Understanding employees strengths and areas for improvement.
Ø Identify the profile, motivations and expectations of team members.
Ø Ensure staff Start/Finish, break times and absence including sickness are monitored and appropriate actions are taken.
Ø Conduct or be a part of investigations or undertake Disciplinary and/or Grievance hearings in accordance to the company’s Disciplinary and Grievance procedures.
Ø Processes admin management of personnel on site. Ø Establish and maintain a good teamwork environment. Maintain a high employee engagement culture.
Ø Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Ø Acts as a role model by leading by example.
 
Work Organisation
Ø Manages and coordinates teams, adjusting workloads according to operational requirements (internal and external constraints).
Ø Plans and monitors schedules and suggests changes in organisation to optimise its efficiency.
Ø Plan and manage the layout of the work area according to flows and volumes.
Ø Communications are managed in a timely and polite manner, in line with company and customers’ procedures.
Ø Plan, manage and control completion of inventory checks in accordance with company procedure and/or with customer requirements.
Ø Manage, monitor and adjust Goods-in and Good-out process to maximise space and operational staff efficiency, to avoid congestion of incoming loads.
Ø Ensure all timeslots are adhered to for both goods-in and goods out. Act as primary escalation point for the operation during your working hours.
Ø Manage, monitor and action all anomalies, damages, rejects or complaints; ensuring that they are recorded and dealt with according to process.
Ø Ensure quality processes are implemented and adhere to according to customer and companies requirements.
Ø Ensure that safe systems of work are adhered to for all activities. Take remedial action when required standards are not met.
Ø Ensure that all Operations teams adhere to all customer and company processes and quality standards.
Ø All new procedures are formally briefed to the relevant staff when required.
Ø Execute operational and H&S audits on a regular basis
 
Controlling and Monitoring
Ø Fills out and control monitoring tools (stock levels and/or activity forecasting tools (reports, statistics, indicators, etc.).
Ø Fill out Time & Attendance / Holiday planner daily, monitor and act on lateness and nonattendance patterns.
Ø Supervises & monitors operations to check quality, profitability, productivity and safety.
Ø Plans, records and monitors flow of activities, issuing work instructions and following up any anomalies.
Ø Processes monitoring and reporting on his or her activity.
Ø Audit the activity & productivity regularly.
Ø Follow and comply with all company quality processes.
Ø Ad-hoc duties as and when required from time to time
 
Health and Safety
Ø You must take responsibility for your own safety
Ø Applies and enforces Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations and processes on a day to day basis
Ø Make sure where you work is safe and hazard free
Ø Report ALL accidents and near misses to your Manager, however insignificant they may seem
Ø You have a legal responsibility to work with Management to identify hazards and reduce risk as much as possible in the work place
Ø Ensures risk assessments are completed and implement control measures where necessary
Ø Ensures accident and near miss forms are completed within 24 hours and complete investigations for all lost time incidents
Ø Completing ‘walk the floor’ inspections and fire safety checks
Ø If necessary, instigates disciplinary procedures in relation to breaches of H&S standards
 
Working Hours;
Hours are 39.5 per week. Monday to Thursday – 8.15am until 5pm and Friday 8.15m until 12.45pm (30 minutes lunch)
